鑒於近日亞裔社群團結一心之際，洛杉磯台美商會特別鳴謝阿罕布拉聯合學區為商會的五萬個口罩捐贈舉辦了一場特別儀式。

阿罕布拉聯合學區的學監Jaramillo女士致詞時說：「洛杉磯台美商會做為本地重要的社區夥伴，我們向商會為了保護學區內一萬六千名學生與兩千名教職員所做的五萬口罩捐贈致敬！」

此次的儀式在如今亞裔美國人受到不公平對待與攻擊之際顯得格外具有意義。阿罕布拉聯合學區也為前一週發生的攻擊事件以降半旗的方式致哀。

特別鳴謝學區教師 Fifi Chu 為這次有意義的捐贈牽線搭橋。

3-23-2021 (Alhambra, CA): With gratitude and a bond of unity with the AAPI community at this time of national crisis, the Alhambra Unified School District’s Board of Education hosted a special outdoor ceremony to thank the Taiwanese-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Los Angeles for their generosity in donating of 50,000 face masks to the District.

AUSD Superintendent Denise R. Jaramillo said, “We salute the Taiwanese-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater LA for being an invaluable community partner and for helping us protect our 16,000 students and 2,000 staff members with their gift of 50,000 masks.”

This ceremony is all the more meaningful at a time when violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders is an epidemic and flags across the country and at AUSD are flying at half-staff to honor those killed in last week’s rampage.

Special thanks to AUSD teacher Fifi Chu for creating the opportunity for TACCLA to make such a meaningful donation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 32nd term of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America (TCCNA32) launched a 10 Million Masks donation program to be carried out by its local chambers throughout the US and Canada. In June 2020, TACCLA launched a Million Face Masks program for the greater LA area. The main focus at that time was first responders, senior care facilities and the vulnerable population.

今年為了配合南加州即將重新開放K-12年級校區,洛杉磯台美商會展開「口罩贈學校」活動,期待可以幫助各個學校的教師及學生得到保護. 隨著南加州逐步開始重啟, 教師及學生群體的安危也是應予最優先考慮的事

This year, with the reopening of schools in our community, TACCLA would once again like to give back by launching a new Masks for Schools Program. We are offering to donate masks across various school districts in Southern California. As our vulnerable population continues to get vaccinated, we want to make sure our most precious population is protected as well. The safety of our children and teachers is a priority as we slowly move towards reopening and recovery.
